It is the oldest building still standing in panjim even before the invasion of the Portuguese. This was the palace of Yusuf Adil Shah of Bijapur. It stands on the banks of the Mandovi river. It is located in the heart of the city of Panjim. After Portuguese captured Goa from Adil Shah, the palace was renamed as Idalcao's palace(a Portuguese version of the name 'Adil Shah') and became a temporary residence of the viceroys of Goa. However, now it is not open to public and visitors can simply admire its exteriors.
