AZAD MAIDAN
Azad Maidan, a historical mark is located opposite to the Goa Police Headquarters. It is a Martyr’s monument and which is built in the memory of those who sacrificed their life in Goa Liberation movement.
The memorial is a tall structure with a four- armed structure at the top. This four armed structure has a pyramid between. It acknowledges the participation of freedom fighters from the four corners of India in the Goa Liberation Movement and while the Pyramid structure indicates ashes, indicating their sacrifice.
Presently this Maidan has become a melting pot for the Goans , where different opinions and issues are voiced. It is also used for holiday meetings point.
