The Unity Statue is in the centre of the Miramar circle. This statue signifies Goa's Liberation in 1961. The unity statue replaced the statue of Alphonso de Albuquerque which was torn down by freedom fighters during the state's Liberation movement. It marks the unity of the Hindu and Christian people of Goa.
